Cards need all 3 games to dispatch Amazin's

GAME 1 - Citi Field
Lohse vs Dickey
Cardinals 7, Mets 2

The 2012 NL Cy Young Award winner looked very mortal today giving up 6 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings.  Kyle Lohse looked more like the Cy Young winner going 8 strong innings, while allowing just 2 to score.  Matt Holliday was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI for the Cards.

GAME 2 - Busch Stadium
Harvey vs Wainright
Mets 12, Cardinals 1

The Mets scored 9 unanswered runs in the top of the 9th to turn a 3-1 game into a laugh-er.  New York sent 6 pitchers to the hill with only starter Matt Harvey allowing a run.  Harvey tweaked an elbow muscle in the 3rd and had to come out immediately with manager Ryan not taking any chances with his 22 year old future ace.  Scott Hairston and David Wright each had 3 hits, with the latter also cashing in with 4 RBI.

GAME 3 - Busch Stadium
Young vs Lynn
Cardinals 4, Mets 2

New York's porous pen squandered a fantastic performance by unheralded starter Chris Young, who threw 6 shutout innings.  The two main culprits, Jon Rauch and Frank Francisco were lit up for a combined 4 runs by the Cards in the bottom of the 9th.  That inning turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead for the Redbirds, who closed out the Mets with a scoreless 9th.  Matt Holliday once again was the focal point of the offense with a 2 run game tying double in the 8th.  Five batter later Skip Schumaker's line drive single scored the go ahead run and added an insurance run.  Closer Jason Motte needed just 8 pitches in the 9th to notch the save and send the Amazin's packing.
